The fish of the deep🐟.

Hello this is my post about a piece of writing that I wrote and really enjoyed it. A challenge I faced was thinking of lots of good describing words. Have you ever seen a fish like this? I learned that it is very hard to think of a describing word for yellow. I enjoyed trying find good words that I hadn't seen before.

Bye, Matilda.🦦

I was swimming cautiously through the endless ocean looking around for new species or at least a dolphin when I was suddenly looking into the beady yellow eyes of the rumoured diabolical terrifying fish of the deep. It was giant and mismatched and slightly terrifying. It had a bulging forehead and miniscule yellow eyes, torn and tender dark fins. It’s lips were huge and bulbous and they matched perfectly with the deep vibrant ocean that surrounded it. Many many people had searched for this rumoured individual fish. Scientists had searched and searched for a look at this fish, a tiny snippet of information regarding what species of fish this was. My name is Cari and I discovered the rumored fish of the deep… My grandmother devoted her life to finding this unique fish and since I found it I felt slightly guilty of the fact I discovered the fish and my grandmother searched for 40 years for it but then I heard her sweet reassuring voice in my head saying “congratulations” and for a second I thought I saw her face smiling at me.

What do you believe?

Kia Ora bloggers😁. This is my picture of me about to be sucked into a black hole!! Doing this project was lot's of fun because we got to find a cool background picture. Do you think it's real? answer in your comments.

Hi this is me and Franny's venn diagram about what kinds of media there are. There are three types of media these are

1. Broadcast media: is a type of media that is played by people no matter how far away and shot - or broadcasted - to your screen.

2. Online media: Things on your chromebooks that aren't broadcasted.

3. Printed media:  When things are put out for the general public to see. Printed on paper.

The monster🐲

Hi, this is my monster writing that I have loved doing because I love writing from a picture. A challenge that I faced was trying to find some good descriptive words. The Genre I choose was horror because it's nearly halloween! Have you done this writing before?

Bye, Matilda.

Lonely and anxious the terrified men rode slowly on their old tired horses looking for somewhere to park and rest. Hazy and orange the dust swirled slowly around the horses hooves and began to create a strange and mystical shape that rose slowly in front of them. Weary and old the men didn’t see the strange shape that was unlike anything else. By the time they saw it and made an ear piercing scream it was too late and they were never seen again. 13 years later a small village was set up in the hope that the wild lands outside of the civilised territory that the great queen Angelica the first ruled over would be set to good use. Some wild people who didn’t like city life inhabited it and began to live in the once deserted moars. A legend was created that said:

When the dust is swirling like a whirlwind a monster will appear and take someone away. Everyone knew it was just a story that a monster was not on the moars it was just a moral a story to stop children running around when dust swirled strangely because you could lose your way. Everyone believed that except a man called Harry Tuck. He said he had encountered the monster and claimed he had fought and had just got away with his life. He said it like this

“Well’s I was just walking on the moars see then the mist came up all funny like and created a weirdish shape well I’s was holding a piece of wood because I was going to make a sign see and I whacked it because I didn’t know what it was then it attacked me and I ran as fast as I could to the village and by the time I turned around it had gone.”

The monster was forever in legend but now many people have seen it and many have disappeared...

My weaving!!!!

cześć (that's hello in Polish), this is my weaving that I have really adored doing. Doing weaving is really fun because you can create  your own patterns and designs. A challenge I faced was trying to do the pattern because it was slightly confusing.

How to weave:

1. Fold a piece of paper in half then cut strips about 2 centimetres apart.

2. Cut paper 2 centimetres wide.

3. Go in and out of the paper creating a pattern.

Have you done weaving?

How to make Hundertwasser art!

Kia ora bloggers, Matilda here. Making the Hundertwasser calendar art was super fun because I liked drawing the outline of the pictures and then dying them. Here are three facts about Hundertwasser

1. He designed Aotearoa  a new flag( see below )

2. He was a hardcore ecoactivist and environmentalist and in some of his artworks there are quotes like "save rain" or something like that

3. He spent a large part of his life in New Zealand and designed building that were just as cool as his art work.

Hundertwasser had features in his art that popped up again and again these were lolly pop trees, raindrops, hidden faces, no straight line, onion domes. Here is how to make his art.

1. Create a draft and think of some ideas that you can put on your real art work.

2. Draw your design on your real art work piece.

3. Colour in the parts you want in crayon .

4. Do the rest in dye.

Have you done Hundertwasser art?

sick sentences

Hi these are my sick sentences that I liked doing because I liked seeing the difference of the original sentences and the new sentences.  I found it hard to think of a sentence for the walking on mars sentence. Have you done sick sentences before?

Original sentences.
The astronaut wore a suit. It was uncomfortable and warm. The astronaut walked on Mars.

My sentences.
Bulky and white the astronaut looked at his thick suit with distaste edged on his face. Warm and uncomfortable it felt sticky and awkward like when you were wet woolen clothes. Mars was strange but walking on it was even stranger.

Fat little pigs

Uh-oh we can see the wolf

The history of Western Springs!!

Hi Matilda here these are my Western Springs slides that I loved doing. It was a big surprise for me to find out that Western springs had millatry history because all I knew about was it was used for water and that is where the pump house comes from in Motat.

I went to Western Springs because I do girl guides and one of the challenges are to go to a historical place and I chose Western springs because I wanted to know more about it.

the disintegrating skeleton

Hi this is my writing that I LOVED doing. I posted this because I liked the words that I used and one of my favourite words was in there. Disintegrating. I found it hard to think of very good words.
Bye, Matilda🐼🐰

Disintegrated and rotten the old grimy skeleton lay there on the hard flattened ground while mist drifted over it making strange shapes that would scare any human. Trekking along the girl shrugged off her fur cloak and sat down breathing hard. She had finally found her life's work, her greatest discovery yet. Looking over at the skeleton that lay there not moving she wondered what it was. People in the small village over the mountains had seen it course but had never understood what it was some of them said it was a dinosaur but others said it was a giant lobster but all of them agreed that it was ancient . They had called in archaeologists and paleontologists to study it and tell them what it was but none of them knew what the colossal ancient skeleton was.

eye of the bridge writing

Hi this is my eye of the bridge writing that I have really liked doing because I could put in really good words. Whats you favourite writing?

Bye, Matilda🐼

It was a mystery no one knew how the eye was there or why and that is the young Olivia leaf was there standing in the morning light looking over the misty and shady forest while holding an old wooden staff in her shivering hand and standing on the hill that stood directly above the cracked and ancient eye. Olivia half tumbled half ran down the hill and came face to face with the giant sphere. She looked at it in ore even though she had seen it many times before it was still breathtaking. As she looked at her stunned reflection in the water that looked like glass she saw something odd, a large cracked and broken old gold ring that was lodged in between some old roots that were knotted together so tightly that they were like vines in a jungle. Olivia slowly bent down and cautiously grabbed the ancient looking ring. She held it up to her face and saw a tiny marking on it that looked like a tiny snake with it’s fangs beard. Shock radiated through her and she threw the ring as far away as she could and it landed on the shimmering part outside of the pupil and out of it came a ginormous dark green snake that immediately pounced and coiled around her suffocating and choking her. As her life flashed in front of her wide brown eyes she wondered what was going to happen to the snake after it killed her. It would probably go and cause havoc in the streets In her home Mount Tremilo then the great sorcerer Helena Brooke would be called in to help and would probably vanquish it with one simple spell that she had learn’t after defeating some three headed dog or something of that sort. Scrambling desperately up the steep mossy bank she got to the top and ran as fast as she could to her tiny village.

Blog you later, Matilda!
🐼

As she looked around at the old creaking trees and the cold wet night, distaste was edged on her makeup covered face.
this is the rest of my writing

Slowly the elevator started up and deposited the walking mall onto the dark, wet and muddy grass. As she looked around at the old creaking trees and the cold wet night, distaste was edged on her makeup covered face. She couldn’t believe that she had taken the advice of that old man who had hobbled over to her as she was on her way to a charity where she was pretending to be very kind and was going to donate a very large almount of money to some place that would help some animals or something like that. Snorting like loudly she couldn’t believe that she had taken his advice. Spinning around and spraying mud over some daisies she walked back onto the glimmering elevator and slowly disappeared from sight.

new party game

Hi this is my new party game that I have been working on for a while. I liked doing this because I might be able to do it at my party. If you could do a party game what would it be about?
Bye, Matilda.

Find the lollies
You will need
  • One bag for everyone at the party with their names on it.
  • A bag of lollies (or more.)
  • Score board.
  • A responsible adult.

How to play

You win if you have the most lollies.
The parent hides the lollies around the house or the garden and the kids have to find them. Once the kids have found a lollie they would put them into their bags.

After all the lollies have been found the parent will take all the bags into a room and count them. Each lollie the kids have got would be marked on the scoreboard. The kid with the most points at the end wins.

How many people can play.
Any number of kids as long you have enough lollies.

P.s It doesn’t have to be lollies it could be fruit or veges.
PPS The kids can eat the lollies afterwards.

The multiverse

( I learn’t that at school)

Dear Carla,

Thanks for the book I have put it on my shelf and I haven't ruined yet. I hope that I won’t. I could tell that it was a
gift from the heart.

I’m sorry for not coming. I had to get a haircut. You did really hurt me and it did make me feel better when you told
me that I had hurt you but I regret it now. I did come to your office because if I didn’t then I would be writing to you
now.

It’s okay that you gave my book report to Mrs Ebbel. She told me that it was excellent and even gave me a gold star.
I think that it is the shinyest one out of all of them. I am learning not to rip up my work but that didn’t stop me from
making a tear in my geography homework but I didn’t tear it in half.

I did go to Colleen's birthday party and it was really fun. I gave Colleen a new book. She seemed to like it but I don’t
know if she really did.

It was always a pleasure to see you and I hope that I didn’t hurt you too much but if I did then I am truly sorry.

I love you too,
