Hi Matilda here these are my Western Springs slides that I loved doing. It was a big surprise for me to find out that Western springs had millatry history because all I knew about was it was used for water and that is where the pump house comes from in Motat.
I went to Western Springs because I do girl guides and one of the challenges are to go to a historical place and I chose Western springs because I wanted to know more about it.
I found it really difficult to find lots of information about Western springs. I think my next steps are to find out more of the Maori history. If you want to learn more about the U.S in Western Springs then look at this link interesting link. Have you been to Western Springs before?
Bye, Matilda.
Hi Matilda
ReplyDeleteA very interesting presentation. I have often walked at Western Springs and taken my children there to play but I did not know about the connection to the US forces.
Hi Matilda,
ReplyDeleteI went to Western springs/Te Wai Orea on Saturday and I saw you walking in the rain with your dad and Elsie when we were driving home! Where did you find this information? How long did this take you to make?
Blog you later,
Lilaš¹
Kia Ora Matilda, I didn't realise there was such a connection with the US forces. Your post reminded me that my aunty has written a short story about meeting US Marines in NZ when she was a child during the war. I am trying to find a copy of it to show you but it is not proving easy. Did you know you can change the width and height of the black frame that surrounds your slideshow? You need to remember to change the size (using the drop down box) to 'small' before you copy your embed code. You can also change the size manually by looking for the height and width in the HTML code. When I change it this way, I always use the 'Preview' button to check what the post will look like before I press 'Publish'. Let me know if this doesn't make sense and we can go through it together : )
