How to make a haiku!!!

Hello Bloggers, Matilda here. For the SLJ I made a haiku about my favourite parts of summer. It was lot's of fun to do this because I love doing haikus and I have posted them before. Here is a link to some of my posts link. If you want to make a haiku then you need to remember 5 syllables in the first line 7 in the second and 5 in the third. Have you made a haiku before?

Bye, Matilda🦦

  1. Kia ora Matilda,

Fiona here again from the SLJ team (-:

I really enjoyed reading your haiku poem - ka pai! My favourite line was when you wrote 'succulent mangoes and fruit' - succulent is such a great word to describe mangoes and it made me want to eat one!

This year I wrote haiku poems with my year 7 class - we had so much fun! Another type of poem I really enjoy writing is cinquains, they also have 5 lines. Have you heard of them?

    Great work.

    Fiona (SLJ).
